I. CHRONOLOGY
31 B-24’s took off from 0640 to 0659 hours to bomb Korneuburg Oil Refinery. 3 a/c returned early. Finding the primary 10/10 cloud covered, the group, pursuant to the Field Order, bombed Florisdorf Oil Refinery by PFF. 28 a/c dropping 54.5 tons of 500 lb RDX bombs (fused .1 and .01, .025 and long delay) on target at 1149 hours from 25,000 to 25,800 feet. The 3 early returns jettisoned 6 tons. 25 returned to base at 1432 hours. None lost, none missing, 3 at friendly fields.

There were 28 effective sorties.

II. ROUTE AND ASSAULT
Rendezvoused with the 450th Group over Manduria at 0738 hours at 9,400 feet to keypoint Urada (4351N-1531E) at 18,000 feet at 0938 hours, to Pois (4713N-1435E) to Neukirchen (4841N-1533E) to I.P. Auggenthal (4842N-1604E), the primary target being 10/10 cloud covered, attacked Florisdorf Oil Refinery on an axis of 151 degrees true, the rally was sharp left, thence to turnpoint Trnava (4822N-1735E) to turnpoint 4716N-1709E to 4512N-1702E to Vis (4303N-1612E) to Base.

Rendezvoused with 40 P-38’s at 4713N-1435E at 1055 hours. Fighters left at 4716N-1709E at 1228 hours.

III. RESULTS
The bombing was by PFF on Florisdorf. The target was 10/10 covered. No results were observed. The mickey operator of the lead ship reports a good run on the target.

IV. ENEMY RESISTANCE

A. Fighters: There were no enemy fighters

B. Flak: Over the target this group experienced intense, inaccurate, heavy flak of 3 to 4 minutes duration.
