My father passed going on 18 years ago. I always knew he was in the service, but he really didn’t talk a lot about it. Two years ago, my middle brother tells me that my father received eight bronze stars for his services. He also said that my father didn’t really talk about all that. I finally after two years, got my brother to send me copies of my fathers papers. I really wish I had know and would have loved to talked to my father about this, but my brother said he didn’t like to talk about it. I am not sure why, but I am so very proud of him for his services. I am looking for any group pictures that there may be of the 717th Bombardment Squadron and the 449th Bombardment Group.
